John Ransom Phillips is a prolific American international visual artist, playwright, author, and film director with works showing in cities such as New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris, Cairo, Sao Paolo, Mexico City, and Tokyo.
He has written more than half a dozen plays, including Eve & Adam, Will & Teddy, Fatherless Sons, Mrs. President, and Mommy. His screenplay Mrs. Mao is currently being translated into the French language with its feature-length film being pre-produced by Robin Robles at Topshot Films in Paris. He recently celebrated the opening night screening and reception of Dick and Jack Movie, which is currently playing at the Cinéma Village in New York City.
John Ransom Phillips graduated from The University of Chicago with a Ph.D. in History of Culture. He has held faculty positions in his Alma mater, Reed College, and University of California, Berkeley.
