Dean Dempsey is a New York City-based American international visual artist and filmmaker whose works have been exhibited in North America, Europe, and Asia. He won the New York Perspectives Award at the Winter Film Awards in 2016 for his debut feature film, Candy Apple, and is currently in production of his second feature film Deadman’s Barstool, premiering in 2017.
Dean Dempsey’s artwork has been exhibited in a number of recognized art organizations such as the Crocker Art Museum in California; former Spring/Break Art Show in New York City; Museum of the Americas in District of Columbia; Pasinger-Fabrik in Munich, Germany; and art galleries in New York City and Milan, Italy. Dempsey was an artist-in-residence at the Villa Waldberta in Munich and most recently at the Institute of Fine Arts at the Duke House in New York City. He is also in the permanent collection of several institutions, including En Foco, Crocker Art Museum, and The Kinsey Institute.
